blind spot
n. 1. In vision the portion of the retina which has no light receptors where the optic nerve and optic blood vessels exit the eyeball, creating an area in the visual field in which nothing can be seen by the eye. The area of a blind spot is normally covered by light receptors in the other eye, and so people do not usually notice they have a blind spot. 2. A limited area in which an individual lacks knowledge, insight, or awareness.
