arcuate fasciculus

n. Neural pathway connecting the posterior part of the temporoparietal junction (Wernicke’s area) with the posterior frontal cortex (Broca’s area). Damage to the arcuate fasciculus can result in a particular type of language impairment (aphasia) known as conduction aphasia. In conduction aphasia, regardless of relatively well preserved auditory comprehension and speech production, significant difficulties in language repetition are observed. 一 AA
