n. The state of being drunk or having had one’s normal control mechanisms noticeably affected by alcohol consumption. Symptoms usually include motor incoordination, faulty judgment, and maladaptive behavior. Legal definitions of alcohol intoxication are high enough that all the symptoms of intoxication are present at much lower doses than the legal level for presumed drunkenness.
