n. A measure of one's development expressed in terms of age norms. Common units of developmental measurement include body size, motor skill, and psychological function. Developmental tasks also often serve as the anchors by which developmental age is measured. Developmental age has most often been used to describe infant and early childhood development but can also be applied to adolescence, early adulthood, middle adulthood, and later adulthood.    - TJM
